Florida’s largest labor federation wants Democrat Pia Dandiya in Congress, citing her commitment to workers’ rights, fair wages and retirement security.
The Florida AFL-CIO, which represents more than 500,000 active and retired workers through affiliated local and international unions, just endorsed Dandiya for Florida’s 22nd Congressional District.
“Pia Dandiya understands that Florida’s economy is strongest when working people have a seat at the table,” said Rich Templin, the organization’s Director of Politics and Public Policy.
“She has demonstrated a commitment to creating good-paying jobs, defending Social Security and Medicare, investing in the infrastructure and public services that strengthen our communities, and protecting the right to organize. We are proud to endorse her campaign for Congress.”
Dandiya said she is honored by the nod.
