Lowering Costs for All Floridians
The cost of living must be lowered for every Floridian
Families are working harder than ever and still finding economic security out of reach. Nowhere is that squeeze sharper than in Florida, where soaring housing costs and some of the highest property insurance premiums in the country stretch families’ budgets to their breaking point.
In Congress, I will fight to:
- Make housing and property insurance more affordable so Floridians can stay in their homes and aren’t forced into 90-minute commutes just to afford where they live.
- Lower prescription drug costs so Floridians can afford the lifesaving medications they need without sacrificing groceries, rent, or other essentials.
- Make childcare more affordable so parents don’t have to choose between going to work and affording quality care for their children.
- End illegal and costly tariffs so families aren’t forced to pay higher prices for groceries, household goods, and everyday essentials.
My goal is simple: a Florida where working families don’t just keep up, but get ahead — where we shift our focus from helping Americans survive to helping them thrive.
Cleaning Up a Broken Washington
Government should work for you, not for the insiders and the well-connected.
I’m not a career politician. I’m an educator, policy advocate and tech executive who spent my career building institutions to deliver for people. Too often, our government is prioritizing billionaires over everyday families. It’s time to change the rules that allow that to happen.
I’ll fight to ban members of Congress from trading individual stocks and profiting from public office. I will get big money out of politics by ending Citizens United and putting voters back at the center of our democracy. Finally, I will ban prediction-market betting by members of Congress and establish congressional term limits.
In a district like ours, the problems people talk about most — the cost of insurance, hurricane and flood resilience, the price of prescription drugs, protecting Social Security and Medicare, restoring the Everglades — don’t belong to one party, and neither do the solutions.
I’ll work with anyone, Democrat, Republican, or Independent, who’s serious about delivering for the families, seniors, workers, and small businesses of Florida. I’ll show up in every part of this district, not just the places that already agree with me. Because America works best when we put people over politics, root out corruption, and focus on making real progress that lasts.
Defending America’s Promise
We must protect the freedoms and programs that support all of us.
A teacher, a nurse, a firefighter, all pay into Social Security and Medicare with every paycheck, for an entire working life. They’ve earned every dollar of the security those programs provide.
I will fight to protect Social Security and oppose any effort to cut benefits, raise the retirement age, or hand the program over to Wall Street. I will reverse Medicaid cuts so families, children, seniors, and people with disabilities can continue to get the care they need, and will protect Medicare for future generations.
The fairest way to keep these programs strong for generations to come is to ask the wealthiest Americans to pay their fair share — not to balance the budget on the backs of the people who built this country. And that same promise extends to our veterans, who kept their commitment to us and deserve a country that keeps its commitment to them, with the health care, benefits, and respect they’ve earned.
Strong Schools, Bright Futures
Every child deserves a great education no matter where they come from.
Great schools are how we keep the American Dream within reach for the next generation — and I’ll fight for them in Washington the way I fought for my students in the classroom. I taught in public schools serving low-income communities. At 28, I was founding principal of a public high school where the majority of my students lived in low-income households. Despite the odds, every single graduate earned admission to college. I know what’s possible when we give every child a real shot, no matter their zip code.
I will fight to make sure our public schools are fully funded, and our teachers get the support they need to make sure every student can succeed. I support universal pre-K, so every child can have an equal head start. Finally I will expand job training and apprenticeship opportunities for young people. Our economy is changing and we need to make sure our education system is invested in skill sets that will be needed in the future.
I have spent my career focused on helping kids get a better education, not on politics. I am ready to take the lessons I learned in the classroom and bring them to the halls of Congress.
Protecting Personal Freedom
Every American should be free to make their own decisions about their body, their family, and their future.
I will fight to make sure all personal healthcare decisions stay between a woman and her doctor. The government should never have a say in your healthcare plan. I will defend equal rights under the law so every American no matter who they are or who they love can live with the freedom they deserve. Who you are and where you come from should never limit how far you can go. My parents came to this country to accomplish the American dream, and I want to make sure every American has that same opportunity.
Freedom means government stays out of the most personal decisions of your life. The choices you and your family make about your health and your future belong to you, not to politicians in Washington.
